Gracious Parcels was a charity knitting project that carried out during 2006 and 2007, initiated at the I Live on a Farm blog. The purpose of the project was to gather hand knit 7″ squares to be made into warm, cozy blankets for family homeowners of our local Habitat for Humanity affiliate, of which my husband and I were both board members.
Here is a photo of me with the first Gracious Parcels blanket …

During the project a wonderful community of charity knitters came together online, resulting in several blankets for the Orleans County Habitat for Humanity in New York. Additionally, several other Gracious Parcels projects started up in other communities.
This Gracious Parcels blog is designed as a community blog, with contributions from knitters who participated in the Gracious Parcels project. To be a contributing member, all that is required is that the knitter contributed at least one 7″ square to a Gracious Parcels blanket.
If you qualify as a contributing member, please post a comment on this page and you will be contacted with more information.
Thank you for visiting, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Hi, I hope to be able to knit and crochet some more squares for you soon, and I’d love to be a part of this community. Jennie, Wales UK

I am wondering if you are doing this or a similar project this year. Habitat for Humanity is a cause I feel very worthy of support and this would be a way for me to contribute. I hope someone will get back to me so I know more of what to do. Ty and God bless you. a sista ~ tori
